What will you do?

As a Linux System Administrator, you will be dealing with tasks divided into two categories:

1. Problem solving, that means responding to breakdowns and handling our clients’ requests. It will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable experience and develop your soft skills through communication with our clients. Problems you may deal with are listed below:

• tracking the source of the service / application downtime
• system load analysis (e.g. increased traffic, sql queries, attacks)
• e-mail problem troubleshooting (emails delivery problems, fall into SPAM folder)
• configuration changes - nginx, apache, haproxy, varnish and many more
• restoring files or entire environment from backups
• creation and deletions of user accounts, VPS accesses
• Automation of the above tasks :)

2. New projects, this means environments creation from the very beginning, configuration of new services and implementation of new solutions. It is a great opportunity for you to learn and utilise your own ideas. Remember we don’t expect you to know everything - we have senior admins for that :) However, we will verify your ambition, desire to learn and the progress you make while learning. What exactly does this involve?

• setting up new servers
• HA solutions implementation (clusters, replication, load balancing)
• performance optimization (database tuning, cache implementation)
• making services scallable
• automation (writing scripts, ansible playbooks)
• technical documentation writing (mainly for our internal wiki pages)

What we expect?

• You have to like it, otherwise the work can be pretty unbearable
• You have at least 2 years of experience working in a similar position
• You use Linux on the daily basis
• You don't give up when you see a problem
• Man, Google or Serverfault sound familiar
• You know at least one programming language on the level required to automate tasks
• Documentation and manuals in English are no problem for you
• You agree to phone duty outside of the regular working hours

We don’t give you a list of required technologies, because we believe that even if something is not familiar yet, you will make an effort to learn it. During the recruitment process you will get a couple of problems to solve and they will be the ones to verify your knowledge as well as what kind of problem-solving approach you present.

Salary

• Employment contract: 7500 - 10000 PLN gross
• B2B: 7500 - 10000 PLN net
